I am always interested in buying books. The list below is not complete: if you have anything else to sell that you think I might be interested in, please get in touch. I am particularly interested in large collections of pony books or children’s books. If the authors you have aren’t listed below, please get in touch anyway. I often buy the deeply obscure, and buy paperbacks as well as hardbacks.
If you want to sell your books:
I need to know:
How many books there are: we (my husband does some collections) will, within reason,
travel to pick up larger collections. It's usually more economic to post smaller
collections. If you do this, I will of course re-
Examples of specific titles you have for sale: A list of the books you have for sale is helpful, with their condition; whether paperback or hardback, and if there’s a dustjacket. If the collection is very large, a representative selection of titles would help. In most cases I only buy books in very good condition (though obviously if the book is rare I do make an exception.)
If we view your collection and make an offer that you accept, we will pay you and take the books away straight away.
Pony Books
I will buy virtually all pony titles, paperback or hardback; the more obscure the better. Paperbacks must be in good condition, but please be aware that because I can’t charge very much for paperbacks these days because of competition from sites like Amazon, I can’t pay very much for them either, apart from the few paperback rarities!
Pony books I don’t buy
I’m afraid there are a couple of authors whom generally I do not buy because they are almost impossible to sell: Pat Smythe (though not her non fiction) and Walter Farley’s Black Stallion paperbacks.
Equine illustrators
I am interested in books, fiction and non fiction, illustrated by: Lionel Edwards, Cecil Aldin, Gilbert Holiday, Michael Lyne, Peter Biegel, Snaffles.
Magazines and Annuals
I buy magazines for research purposes. I’m looking to buy Pony
Magazine and Riding
Magazine, and you can see a list of the ones I’m after here.
