Don Patton

The Bunch Quitter

Macrae Smith, Philadelphia, 1935, illus Paul Clowes, 256 pp. (left)

Caxton, 1948

As Brown Jug G Routledge & Sons, London, 1935, (internal illustration right)

The wild horse Brown Jug would rather leave a herd of horses than be caught by man.  He is,
however, tamed by a half Indian wolf trapper, Narcisse.  The book is, I think, set in Montana.

Don Patton (1892- ) wrote, as far as I am aware, just the one book.  It is about the strangely named wild horse Brown Jug.

Many thanks to Lisa Catz for the photograph.

Finding the book:  the book is easy to find in the USA, as it is under its UK titling, Brown Jug.
