The focus now shifts to a Scholarship training yard, sponsored by Felix Hissey, rather than the Fanes. Miss Vivian "Viv" Tintoft, Alice Merryman, Selina Gibbons, The Talisman, Flame Thrower, Balthazar, Fox Me, Phillip Hastings are now all proper characters rather than being referred to. There is a girl called Mandy also on the Scholarship course, who I think is Amanda Willis.

Mr Tintoft - Vivian's father

 

Annemarie does have a horse, and the Fanes a new groom, but neither are named. There is also a chief who is prominent, but not given a specific name.

 

Hans Gelderhol, previously refererred to, actually makes an appearance in this book.

 

Vivian's name is also spelt Vivienne. Selina Gibbons also uses the name Jane Lejeune.
