What books do I include?

Forthcoming books

This website is about horse and pony fiction, so if you have a book which is fiction, whether for child or adult, I will almost certainly include it in my list. Much of this website is about literature for children, so for that reason I will not include any books which are pornographic.

Non fiction

I can’t include every non-fiction title that appears in the horse world, so I restrict myself to the titles that interest me most:

The historical horse

The horse in culture

Breed histories (though these are more likely to figure if they have some cultural interest as well)

The horse in art and literature

Horse sport - historical

Autobiographies - occasionally

Please send me:

Author, title, publisher, very brief synopsis (Twitter length will do me fine) and formats in which the book is available: hardback, paperback, Nook Book, Kindle or other e-book format. If you have any promotions going, let me know about those too.  Ideally, your book should be available in the UK, as that is where I and over half my readership are based, but this is not absolutely essential. Get in touch here.

I will generally not include

Technical manuals

Inspiring stories of horses and humans

Pretty horse books

Review policy

I am happy to accept books for review, which will be reviewed on my blog. If at all possible, I prefer an actual book. It is highly unlikely that I will review your book immediately.  I review books in the order I get them, though I must admit to the occasional queue jumping if the book’s one I’m particularly looking forward to.  If the review pile is particularly large, it might be as much as a couple of months before I review your book.

Self-published books

I will only publish a review of a self-published book on my blog if I like it. There are some pretty poor books out there produced by long-established publishing houses, but there are infinitely worse ones published by their authors. There are also great ones, and if I like them, I will tell the world about them.
