Reprints

Independent publishers Fidra Books are in the vanguard of pony book reprints.  They have re-published some of Joanna Cannan, Josephine Pullein-Thompson, K.M. Peyton and Primrose Cumming, and are planning to issue Ruby Ferguson’s Jill books and Caroline Akrill’s Eventers Trilogy.

Monica Edwards, is not, stricly speaking, a pony book author, with the exception of her earliest titles, but she is one of the best 20th century children’s authors, and fervently collected, so merits any kind of mention!  She is being re-published by Girls Gone By.  Unlike Fidra, they do not keep titles in print.  They have short print runs, and once the books have sold out, that is it.  I stock their Monica Edwards titles, and announce new titles in my News section, but if you want their books don’t leave it too long!
