David Scott Daniell (1906-1965) was born Albert Scott Daniell, but preferred the name David.  His works were mostly non-fiction, written under  a variety of names.  He wrote under the names Richard Bowood, and, for Ladybird Books, John Lewsedon, as well as David Scott Daniell. As John Lewesdon, he wrote The Ladybird Book of London, and as David Scott Daniell, the Flight series.  As Richard Bowood, he contributed to The Swift.

Military history was an abiding interest, leading him to write several military histories, including Battles and Battlefields, and Cap of Honour, the Story of the Goucestershire Regiment, 28th/61st Foot.  He wrote one book which has some equine interest::  Sandro’s Battle, which is set in World War II. He wrote several other historical children’s novels.
