Sylvia Scott White
Sylvia Scott White wrote two pony books I know of.  Her Pony Pageant was part of the Crown Pony Library:  Ten Week Stables didn’t make it into the Crown Pony Library.  Her illustrator for Ten Week Stables, George Bowe, contributed to one edition of  Swift, and illustrated two books by Enid Blyton.

Finding the books:  both books are easy to find, and generally cheap.

This is the sequel to Ten Week Stables.  Everything is going well for Sarah and Ginette -
they, their pupils and ponies are going to take part in a local pageant, but then film star
Beulah turns up.  She hates animals, is sure she is going to marry the girls’ landlord, and
is determined to chuck them out of the stables.

Two sixteen year old girls start a riding stables for the summer to show parents they can be a success working with horses, and don't have to go to domestic college or become secretaries. They have some misadventures, of course, but they don't get unfairly blamed for anything or told that they're too young and irresponsible.

Thanks to Gillian Taylor for this summary, and to Hannah Fleetwood for the picture.
