Marlena Frick
Marlena Frick has written one horse book, as far as I know.  I can find no biographical information about her, other than the fact she wrote a book, Heureux Qui Comme Ulysse, which was turned into a film.

Finding the book:  The Homecoming is very easy to find in both its printings, and is  usually very reasonably priced.

The Homecoming
Hodder & Stoughton, London, 1964, illus Rita Parsons

David McKay, New York, 1965

Set in Provence and the Camargue, this is a story of an old man’s devotion to the horse he bought at a
Camargue Horse Fair.  He struggles desperately to save the horse, now he is old, from an agonising death
at the bull ring in Arles.
