Deborah van der Beek
Deborah van der Beek is an author and illustrator, though probably best known now for her abilities as a sculptor.  She studied in London, Cambridge and Cardiff, and wrote and illustrated several books before concentrating on sculpture.  Her sculpture is amazing:  full of strong forms:  bulls, and horses.  Peter Davies, in an article written on Deborah van der Beek’s site, says her works:  “will surely become an enduring set of memorable images.”  Her website (for which the link is below) has many examples of her work:  I particularly like The Fifth Horseman. (Scroll down!)

Finding the book:   very easy to find; and usually cheap.

Mel knows she can take care of him.   But little does she know that taking care of Thunderfoot is going to
