Caney also illustrated some other horsey books. Below are screenshots of Judith M Berrisford’s Timber, the Story of a Horse, and Tschiffely’s The Tale of Two Horses. He illustrated two of Tschiffely’s other works: apart from that he illustrated many books with a Christian theme. |
|
Ruby Ferguson wrote another children’s book, this one not concerned with horses. It is A Paintbox for Pauline, published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1953, and shown to the left. Jill was also published in translation: to the right is Gitte får en pony from 1965. All the Danish translations are now out of print, and are very hard to find. |

Many thanks to Birte Scheel for the pictures of Paintbox, Gitte and Timber. |

Some Jill compilations were published in the 1990s. As far as I know, these were specially produced for the British booksellers WH Smith. |
