Silver Snaffles is one of those books that once read, stays in the imagination for ever. It was published and republished many times up until the 1960s, but then stayed out of print until a sadly cut paperback edition was produced in the 1970s. Sadly cut it may have been, but it enchanted a new generation of readers just the same.
