A beautifully illustrated dog book, this one is the story of a very charming hunt terrier. The dustjacket is unclipped, and is a little discoloured along the spine and the edges of the panels front and rear.  There is some light creasing to the top edges. The yellow cloth boards are very good, with a few dark spots along the top edge. There is a neat name and address and a little spotting to the endpapers. The pages are clean.  B/W frontis and 15 full page b/w illustrations.

 

 

20 CHARLTON, MOYRA : Patch, the Story of a Mongrel    £3.00

Not a pony story, as you’ve probably spotted from the title, but by an author better known for her pony stories. Moyra Charlton was still in her teens when she wrote this.

 

No dj.  Orange boards with faded and discoloured spine, with bumped ends.  Board corners bumped. Boards have some marks.  Names (one crossed out) to fep. Some marks to outer edges of pages, but generally clean.

A lovely dog book (I’m branching out!).  Storm is an Alsatian, and this is a very good copy of his story.  The dj is not price clipped, and has some wear to the spine ends.  It is otherwise very good. The yellow boards are good, save for some mottling to the top edge and fading to the bottom. There is a neat name and address to the fep, and a few spots. The pages are clean.  B/W frontis and 15 full page b/w plates.

A very attractive dog book by an American author. Shep is (you’ll never guess this) a sheepdog.  The dustjacket is unclipped, and is unfortunately now in two bits, though this is quite difficult to tell now it’s in a protective plastic cover. The green boards are good with bumped corners and spine ends. There are a very few spots to the fep, and a neat name and address.  There are a few marks to some pages, but they are generally are clean. b/w frontis and 15 lovely full page b/w illustrations.
