AH & AW Reed, Wellington, 1975, 168 pp. Illus Garrick Tremain
Jacky Blair has moved from the town to the country. When she gets there, she can’t ride, but in very short order she learns to ride, and is winning at gymkhanas, from where it is but a short step to her buying her own stables with her friend Mike.
There are not many New Zealand pony book authors, but Glenys Bell is one. She wrote Our Own Riding Stables when she was just 13 years old. As far as I can see, she wrote no other books under that name.
Finding the books: hard to find, and tends to be ex-library when it does turn up.
